The 1914 Gospel, Baptizing Anne Frank and Brock’s Shoes

In this episode Brian and Brock discuss Mormon's baptizing Anne Frank,  The April 2nd Kingdom Ministry and the Watchtowers "Good News"  of 1914 verses the "Good News of 2012." Do Jehovah's Witnesses of today believe what they did in 1914?    In addition to that we ask the question:  "How many pairs of shoes can Brock own before he becomes a girl?'

Former Bethel Elder Discusses Why He Left the Watchtower

In this episode I interview former London Bethel family member Mathew Purvess. Mathew explains how it is that he went from an elder at Bethel to an apologist warning people about the Watchtower Society and it's errant teachings.

Borrowed Catholic Doctrine? Salvation Through the Watchtower

In this episode Brian and Brock discuss how the Watchtower teaches that salvation depends on serving their elite 144,000 class.   We also discuss the parallels between the  Watchtower governing structure and the Catholic governing structure.  Did the Jehovah's Witnesses merely adopt the Catholic structure with a few minor tweaks?

Here is a link to the discussion of "Paradise Earth" discussed in the Podcast: http://www.desiringgod.org/resource-library/conference-messages/an-evening-of-eschatology

Jehovah's Witnesses Faulty Blood Policy

The Jehovah's Witnesses misreading of Acts Chapter 15 has caused the death of many within the organization. It is my hope and prayer that this video will offer an alternative understanding to those Jehovah's Witnesses who are willing to take a second look at the passage, applying a more consistent and complete method of interpretation. The video was prompted by a letter that I received some time ago that I speak about in the video.

Watchtower 2009 Annual Report

The data published by the Watchtower in their 2009 annual report confirms that a disturbing trend for them continues yet another year. The anointed partakers of the emblems at their annual memorial meal has once again risen sharply despite the fact that according to their theology the number of those in the "anointed class" should be shrinking.  This year it has risen nearly 10 percent.

Recently they had to do some major back peddling on their previous doctrine that taught  the "heavenly call" ended in 1935.  However that change will buy them very little time.  One wonders how long they can continue the current doctrine without some sort of massive change.

C.T Russell and Global Warming?

It appears that CT. Russell, the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and Al Gore may have been fast friends if they both had been alive at the same time.  According to a website run by "Bible Students"   Russell used bible prophesy (and strong faith) to predict the internet and global warming.

"Nearly 100 years ago, utilizing Bible prophecy and with strong faith in God, Pastor Russell foresaw: technology that would instantly spread knowledge and information to everyone on earth; global warming with melting polar ice caps;.."
Impressive?  Hhhmmm  Well he also falsely predicted the end of the world a number of times. He canonized a pyramid. He believed germs, rabies vaccines and some operations to be hoaxes. He had a terrible fear of aluminum, science and doctors He constantly misinterpreted the scriptures and deceived his followers with scams like "miracle wheat." So no... not really.

A Little Confused

I received an email  from an active Jehovah's Witness who frequently comments on my videos that made me laugh. I think he's having trouble deciding whether he likes me or hates me:

     "Hi Brian,
I hope you are doing well, and at the same time I hope your computer crashes(;}-) "

The Watchtowers "Spirit Direction"

The Jehovah's Witness leadership is communicating with and taking direction from the spirit world, but who are these spirits they are communicating with? Even the Watchtower doesn't seem to know for sure.

Who's Reading the Watchtower?

While doing some research for a project that I have been working on for some time now I ran across two quotes from the Watchtower that make me wonder if the people who write the Watchtower actually read the Watchtower.

In answering the question of whether or not organizational growth is an indication of God's favor or blessing the Watchtower of January 15th  2001  said the following:

"Of course, the number of those associated with Jehovah's Witnesses is not a criterion for determining if they enjoy divine favor; nor do statistics impress God." - The Watchtower, 1/15/2001, page 17

But then just four months later in the May 15th 2001 issue they said:

"Consult the current Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, and note the lands now reporting from 100,000 to nearly 1,000,000 Kingdom publishers. This is powerful proof that the Kingdom-preaching work is being blessed by Jehovah." - The Watchtower, 5/15/2001, page 13

I wonder if the writer of the second article read the first article?  I wonder if the Governing body read either of the articles? I wonder how many active Jehovah's Witnesses at the time caught that quick reversal.

The Incomprehensibility of God

An excellent video on the biblical doctrine of the incomprehensibility of God.
